CBU stakeholder

Hey guys, below is an example of direct and indirect stakeholders. Have a look and let me know what you think k.

Here are some examples of project stakeholders that might be included in your projects.

• Creators: as the creator of the project, you are the first stakeholder!
• Team: this can include managers, employees, interns, volunteers and partners and advisors.
• Funders or Sponsors: the individuals, foundations, companies and organizations who provide financing. Some projects will have a single source of funds, while others will have many different funding sources.
• Community members: those who will be benefiting directly from your project.
• Partners: may include groups or individuals who act as allies in achieving the project's goals.
• Indirect Stakeholders: the individuals or organizations whose interests are affected by the project, but who will not typically have any direct contact with the project. For example, a project which seeks to improve air quality in a given city will indirectly benefit all its inhabitants, although not everyone will have direct contact with the project.

College orientation tomorrow

Ok, this will be my last post for the next 1 week I think. Don't know if I'll have the time to blog during orientation, though I will try.

To tell ya the truth, I'm scared out of my mind. Really, really scared. I've been putting off going to college for such a long time for 2 reasons:

1) I dread going to college. I dont know what to expect. Will I fit in? I dont know. I guess I just don't want to leave my comfort zone.

2) After months of not touching a book, I don't know how my brain will react. Will I be able to cope?

Over the past few months I've gotten numerous offers from private colleges. But I turned them all down. Why? I just wasn't ready. Even now going to KLIUC i'm scared but I decided that its been too long. I can't wait any longer. And my brain isn't getting any better either.

Everyone around was like " Ur afraid to stay far away". So not true. U can send me to Africa and I wouldn't mind. Its the lifestyle alteration that I'm afraid of. I mean, I'm finally gonna be truly independant, whatever that means.

So tomorrow I go, into a realm of the unknown. the uncertain. I can only pray that it would be how I imagined it to be. I don't know why I'm afraid. I mean, I survived school didn't I? With the most awesome friends, and good grades and active co-co...so I don't need 2 be afraid right?

Oh well, I just hope for the best. I can't put my mother through hell again with my fickle mindedness. Wish me luck! :)

How different are we?

This morning, wahida, adila, dina and me went to alamanda to watch night at the museum 2 , which was HILLARIOUS btw. Then after we decided to just chill at the p9 food court and just chat on what has happened to all of us after SPM and some other stuff too. God knows what we were talking about, we came to the topic of how people(teenagers to be more specific) are so different in every country. I've talked with people my age from so many other countries before, USA,phillipines, thailand,NZ,australia,blablabla....and we all have different ways of doing things. Is it our culture? Maybe, I don't know. But I mean some things we do as so ridiculous its unfair we blame it on culture. Like here, whenever anyone adopts a sort of westernized habit, we label it as "budaya kuning". Why? Are we really adopting a "culture"? or are we just evolving and forming one of our own? I mean once we make something a habit, doesn't it become our culture? So why do we blame other people saying that we are just merely adopting their bad habits?

Ok, back to the main point. Something really disturbed me the other day when I was chatting with a friend from a different country. I asked "over there what do ppl do for fun?" ..answer: sex. Ok, so not really shocking, I've heard it before from other people too. But if that answer were to have come out of the mouth of a malaysian, it would be totally and utterly unacceptable, right? I say malaysian coz I dare not speak for Asians in general. I might sound stupid when I say this...but I just don't understand. How is it that we who are all of the same age, just divided by mere costal borders have such different values? Why aren't we all brought up in the same way? ok, maybe not the same way, but atleast with similar values. How is it that after decades of modernization, what is now deemed "the norm" in other countries is still taboo in ours and maybe a few others? Why did they allow such things to be their "culture"?

I admit, Malaysians are not angels. Some, maybe even more have done things that is considered wrong by our standards. But its not westernization. Its us. I would use the word evolving, but that would be wrong too. Coz I do not consider engaging in such activities as evolving. But the point is we have no one to blame but ourselves. I'm in the process of understanding why we are all so different. Why is it that we have such opposing values? And if 2 people from these opposing cultures were 2 come together, which one would have to compromise their values?

If you have the answer, please let me know.
